As detailed in this ABC News Story, over 600 (now over 1,200) professionals are urging Congress to stop water fluoridation until … all » Congressional hearings are conducted. They cite new scientific evidence that fluoridation, long promoted to fight tooth decay, is ineffective and has serious health risks. Signers include a Nobel Prize winner, three members of the prestigious 2006 National Research Council (NRC) panel that reported on fluoride’s toxicology, two officers in the Union representing professionals at EPA headquarters, the President of the International Society of Doctors for the Environment, and hundreds of medical, dental, academic, scientific and environmental professionals, worldwide. THEY’RE not quite The Travelling Wilburys but a group of disgruntled regional mayors have banded together for a YouTube song that blasts the State Government’s council amalgamations. The country-tinged tune called Amalgamation Wrong Song is the work of Pine Rivers mayor Yvonne Chapman and songwriter Chris Doyle and also features Caboolture (home of Keith Urban) mayor Joy Leishman, Noosa mayor Bob Abbot, Gary Peoples (Aramac), Mike Berwick (Douglas), John Brent (Boonah) and Dougal Davidson, of Tambo.
